Montgomery v. Caribe
On January 21, 2026, WLF urged the Supreme Court to vindicate a federal law that preempts states and localities from regulating brokers (who match interstate and international shippers with delivery services) and motor carriers (the commercial trucking companies who deliver the shipper’s goods after being chosen by a broker). As WLF’s brief makes clear, federal preemption prevents pernicious regulation-by-litigation in the state courts, which would introduce barriers to entry in the motor carrier industry and needlessly produce friction on interstate and international trade.
