United States v. Google LLC
On May 29, WLF urged the DC Circuit to reverse a sweeping antitrust remedies decree against Google. WLF contends that the district court exceeded the equitable bounds of antitrust relief by imposing affirmative duties to deal that bear no proper relationship to the violations found at trial. Besides imposing court-created duties to deal without evidence that forced sharing with rivals will remedy any specific violation found, the decree also reaches unadjudicated GenAI markets and creates improper ongoing judicial oversight. These defects conflict with Supreme Court precedent and prior DC Circuit decisions.
