On February 20, 2026, the Supreme Court ruled that tariffs President Trump imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) are unlawful. The outcome was a victory for WLF, who argued as amicus curiae that IEEPA gives the President no legal basis to impose tariffs, and the administration’s strained reading to the contrary violates the major questions canon. WLF also filed in this case at the certiorari stage.
