In re Proposed Amendments to the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines
On February 10, 2026, WLF urged the U.S. Sentencing Commission to adopt amendments to the Sentencing Guidelines that advance predictable, proportionate, and uniform sentencing. WLF supported proposals to index the Guidelines’ dollar-loss table to inflation, rationalize enhancement calculations, and incentivize self-motivated rehabilitation. WLF suggested that the Commission should reconsider proposed amendments aimed at the use of emerging technologies and should generally avoid relying on non-economic criteria for calculating sentences for economic crimes.
