(Washington, D.C.)—Washington Legal Foundation (WLF) and the Chair of its Legal Policy Advisory Board, Jay B. Stephens, are pleased to announce that Robert E. Johnston of Hollingsworth LLP has joined WLF’s advisory board.
Robert is an experienced trial lawyer, litigator, and appellate advocate practicing primarily in the areas of pharmaceutical products, toxic tort, and insurance. He routinely tries cases to verdict and participates in preparation of appeals, often arguing on behalf of clients before federal and state appellate courts. Robert led the trial team that obtained the first defense verdict, unanimously, in a case alleging that exposure to ethylene oxide released from a commercial medical device sterilization facility caused cancer. He is among a small percentage of American lawyers invited to be a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a trial lawyer honorary society that recognizes excellence among U.S. litigators and trial counsel.
“We are honored to have Robert join our advisory board,” said WLF Executive Director Glenn G. Lammi. “He will provide WLF unique insight from his years in the trenches of civil litigation. Robert also has demonstrated from his frequent pro bono involvement with WLF’s Legal Studies Division his understanding that educating judges and other policymakers is a vital component of achieving victories in court,” Lammi added.
WLF’s Legal Policy Advisory Board is a group of over 40 distinguished professionals from the business, legal, academic, and public-policy communities who serve on a volunteer basis.
Celebrating its 46th year, WLF is America’s premier public-interest law firm and policy center advocating for free-market principles, limited government, individual liberty, and the rule of law.
