(Washington, DC)—Washington Legal Foundation (WLF) is pleased to announce the hiring of John M. Masslon II as its new Senior Litigation Counsel.

John joins our team after having served as Assistant Solicitor General for the State of West Virginia, where he regularly practiced before both state and federal appellate courts. He also acquired invaluable experience while clerking for judges on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.

John graduated magna cum laude from Clemson University, where he majored in Economics. Following additional graduate study in Economics, John went on to receive a J.D. and an L.L.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. John became familiar with WLF during his time in law school, when he clerked with WLF’s litigation division.

“John brings a wealth of talent and experience to WLF’s demanding litigation practice,” said Cory Andrews, WLF’s Vice President of Litigation. “We are delighted to welcome him to our team as Senior Litigation Counsel.”

Celebrating its 43rd year as America’s premier public-interest law firm and policy center, WLF advocates for free-market principles, limited government, individual liberty, and the rule of law.
