On September 27, 2005, the Superior Court of California in San Mateo County approved an attorneys’ fee award of $2.7 million in a consumer class action lawsuit filed against Apple Computer on behalf of purchasers of Apple’s iPod Digital Music Player. The court did, however, reduce the fee to counsel for one of the plaintiffs because the work was duplicative of lead counsel. The final order approving the attorneys’ fee request was issued last week following the approval of the settlement which provides class members with a $25 check or a coupon worth $50 in store credit for those who file claims by September 30, 2005.
